Terms of use of the public server
The rules for using the free NuviraHub public server, the one the app uses when you do not set your own server.
Last updated: 31 October 2026
1. Who provides the service
The public server is provided by Alessandro Blason (NuviraHub project), Italy (“we”). Contacts: support@nuvirahub.dev for help, abuse@nuvirahub.dev to report abuse.
2. The service
The public server, connect.nuvirahub.dev, lets NuviraHub apps get an ID, reach each other, connect directly and, when that is not possible, exchange their traffic through our relay. It also distributes app updates. It is free of charge and does not include the NuviraHub Pro modules.
These terms apply only to the public server. The NuviraHub software has its own licence (AGPL-3.0 with additional terms on credits for the app and the base server); NuviraHub Pro and the Founders Programme have their own terms. If you set your own server, these terms do not apply.
3. Acceptance
By using the public server, that is by using the app without setting another server, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, set your own server or do not use the service. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may act for it and you accept these terms on its behalf too. The service is meant for adults and professionals: minors may use it only with the consent and under the responsibility of a parent.
4. Allowed use
- Accessing your own computers, or computers you are authorised to manage.
- Accessing other people's computers with their informed consent, for example to help them: the app always asks the person at the computer to accept, unless unattended access was installed by someone entitled to do so.
- Reasonable use: the server is shared. For many computers, or heavy or continuous professional use, install your own NuviraHub server (it is free).
5. Forbidden uses
- Accessing a computer without the consent of the person using it or of whoever is entitled to it, or obtaining consent by deception (fake technical support, fake calls from banks, organisations, authorities or the like).
- Fraud, theft of data, credentials or money, spreading malicious software, any unlawful activity.
- Violating the rights or privacy of others, for example by watching people without their knowledge.
- Attacking or overloading the server, trying to guess IDs or passwords, sending mass or automated requests, getting around limits or blocks.
6. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for what you do during sessions and for complying with the law, including data protection rules for the information you see on other people's computers. Keep your passwords safe and install unattended access only on computers you are entitled to manage.
7. Limits, blocks and reports
To protect the service we automatically limit the requests of each address. We may block, also without notice, devices and addresses involved in forbidden uses or reported for abuse. Report abuse to abuse@nuvirahub.dev giving the device ID, date and time, and what happened. If you think a block is a mistake, write to the same address. We cooperate with the authorities when the law requires it.
8. Availability and changes to the service
The public server is provided “as is”, with no guarantee of availability, continuity or performance. It may be interrupted for maintenance, changed, limited or closed; when possible we announce it on this website. You can switch to your own server at any time.
9. Liability
The content of sessions is end-to-end encrypted between the two devices: we do not see it and are not responsible for it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from the use or unavailability of the service, such as loss of data, loss of profit or business interruption. This does not limit liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the rights the law grants to consumers that cannot be excluded.
10. Privacy
How we handle data is described in the privacy notice.
11. Duration and termination
You can stop using the service at any time, by setting another server or uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end the access of anyone who breaches these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the version in force is published on this page with the date of the last update, and important changes are announced on the website. By continuing to use the public server after a change, you accept the new version.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence and the jurisdiction of the courts where you live remain unaffected. In all other cases the courts of the provider's place of residence have jurisdiction.
